Job Summary: 
A candidate with mid-level program management and administrative experience is needed to support the Science Advice and Guidance for Emergencies (SAGE) Program, a preparedness and continuity plan.  The successful candidate must have excellent writing skills, understanding of Federal, State, and Local response systems and requirements.  Understanding of Continuity Operations, Emergency management, and the National Response Framework.  In addition, the successful candidate must have an understanding of hazardous material response, State, Local, and Federal response roles and mandates in the following disciplines: Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives.

Job Duties:
  • Assist with quarterly Science Advice and Guidance for Emergencies (SAGE) Newsletter
  • Intradepartmental coordination and awareness
  • Assist with National Operations Center (NOC) Outreach and Coordination
  • SAGE book Publication Maintenance, Update, and tracking
  • Maintain SAGE Tests, Training, and Exercise program
  • Support federal lead staff’s efforts to develop new Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) as required to support emerging gaps and requirements for SAGE
  • Conduct research and outreach to government, academic, and industry partners to identify and recruit subject matter experts (SME) in support of the SAGE program
  • Validate SME contact information yearly and update as needed
  • Maintain SAGE library of background materials and SME guidance through the SAGE SharePoint Site
  • Review and update programmatic SAGE documents
  • Monitor SAGE Email account
  • Provide briefings to senior leadership regarding program activities and progress
  • Attend conferences and symposiums specific to SAGE mission and scope to be aware of emerging technologies and threats
  • Attend required department trainings
  • Participate and assist with continuity exercises
  • Responsible for tracking time and completing timesheets
  • Responsible for submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports

  • Development of Standard Operating Procedure and/or Checklists
