Bespoke Technologies is seeking a UI/UX Developer with strong expertise in modern front-end development and a solid understanding of human-centered design principles. The ideal candidate combines strong development skills with a user-focused mindset, translating product and design requirements into intuitive, accessible, responsive, and high-quality digital experiences.
The primary focus of this role is modern front-end development, particularly using React and JavaScript. Experience working with back-end technologies and building or integrating full-stack solutions is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop modern, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces for web-based applications.
- Build reusable, maintainable, and scalable front-end components using React and JavaScript.
- Translate UX designs, wireframes, prototypes, and product requirements into production-ready applications.
- Apply human-centered design (HCD) principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with users, product owners, designers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Participate in user research, usability testing, prototyping, and iterative design activities as needed.
- Ensure applications meet standards for usability, accessibility, responsiveness, performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Integrate front-end applications with APIs, services, and back-end systems.
- Contribute to back-end development when needed, including API development, data integration, and troubleshooting across the application stack.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement of development practices.
- Work effectively within an Agile or iterative product development environment. Required Skills:
- Strong professional experience with modern front-end development, with front-end engineering as a primary area of expertise.
- Strong hands-on experience with React and modern React development patterns.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience developing responsive, component-based web applications.
- Understanding of modern front-end architecture, state management, API integration, and reusable component design.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UI/UX and human-centered design principles, including usability, accessibility, interaction design, and user-centered problem solving.
- Ability to translate designs and user requirements into functional, polished interfaces.
- Experience integrating applications with REST APIs and/or other back-end services.
- Familiarity with modern development practices, including Git/version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and Agile development.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills, including facilitation of small to large groups (5-30+ people)
- Ability to provide clear, articulate rationale for design choices and approach
- Expertise with Agile methodology and ability to work in iterative product design cycles
- Bachelor’s degree
Desired Skills:
- Full-stack development experience and the ability to contribute to back-end development when required.
- Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, or similar frameworks/languages.
- Experience designing, developing, or consuming APIs and working with databases.
- Familiarity with TypeScript and modern React frameworks.
- Experience with design systems and component libraries.
- Familiarity with UX/design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Knowledge of WCAG and accessibility best practices.
- Experience conducting or supporting user research, usability testing, journey mapping, prototyping, and iterative product design.
